I dont think their is a such thing as bad cholesteral and good choleseral I think it is all good but if you want to try to swayed be go ahead and am all open. I mean don those drugs have side effects ?

Fyi from the American heart association

Lowdensity lipoprotein or LDL is known as bad cholesterol. Highdensity lipoprotein or HDL is known as good cholesterol.

LDL Bad Cholesterol
When too much LDL bad cholesterol circulates in the blood it can slowly build up in the inner walls of the arteries that feed the heart and brain. Together with other substances it can form plaque a thick hard deposit that can narrow the arteries and make them less flexible. This condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery heart attack or stroke can result.

Less than 100 mg/dL
Optimal

100 to 129 mg/dL
Near Optimal/ Above Optimal

130 to 159 mg/dL
Borderline High

160 to 189 mg/dL
High

190 mg/dL and above
Very High

HDL good Cholesterol
About onefourth to onethird of blood cholesterol is carried by highdensity lipoprotein HDL. HDL cholesterol is known as good cholesterol because high levels of HDL seem to protect against heart attack. Low levels of HDL less than 40 mg/dL also increase the risk of heart disease. Medical experts think that HDL tends to carry cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver where its passed from the body. Some experts believe that HDL removes excess cholesterol from arterial plaque slowing its buildup.

Triglycerides
Triglyceride is a form of fat made in the body.

Your triglyceride level will fall into one of these categories:

Normal: less than 150 mg/dL
BorderlineHigh: 150199 mg/dL
High: 200499 mg/dL
Very High: 500 mg/dL

total cholesterol

Less than 200 mg/dL: Desirable
If your LDL HDL and triglyceride levels are also at desirable levels and you have no other risk factors for heart disease total blood cholesterol below 200 mg/dL puts you at relatively low risk of coronary heart disease. Even with a low risk however its still smart to eat a hearthealthy diet get regular physical activity and avoid tobacco smoke. Have your cholesterol levels checked every five years or as your doctor recommends.

200239 mg/dL: BorderlineHigh Risk
If your total cholesterol falls between 200 and 239 mg/dL your doctor will evaluate your levels of LDL bad cholesterol HDL good cholesterol and triglycerides. Its possible to have borderlinehigh total cholesterol numbers with normal levels of LDL bad cholesterol balanced by high HDL good cholesterol. Work with your doctor to create a prevention and treatment plan thats right for you. Make lifestyle changes including eating a hearthealthy diet getting regular physical activity and avoiding tobacco smoke. Depending on your LDL bad cholesterol levels and your other risk factors you may also need medication. Ask your doctor how often you should have your cholesterol rechecked.

240 mg/dL and over: High Risk
People who have a total cholesterol level of 240 mg/dL or more typically have twice the risk of coronary heart disease as people whose cholesterol level is desirable 200 mg/dL. If your test didnt show your LDL cholesterol HDL cholesterol and triglycerides your doctor should order a fasting profile. Work with your doctor to create a prevention and treatment plan thats right for you. Whether or not you need cholesterolregulating medication make lifestyle changes including eating a hearthealthy diet getting regular physical activity and avoiding tobacco smoke.

cholesterol is an animal fat. its not present in fruitsvegetables grains. water sugar vegetables or oils.

I dont know who told you all the stuff processed food refined carbs soy foods vaccines etc but they have no clue what they are talking about. Yes There are good and bad cholesterol. Cholesterol comes from two sources 1 foods and 2 your body makes it How much your body makes is strictly genetic in nature. I know strict vegans with total cholesterol in the 170s mg/dl and I dont know where you heard most people who have heart attacks have normal levels. There has never been a study done to address this. Cholesterol levels are not normally one of the labs drawn when you go to the hopsital while having a heart attack. Yes The class of drugs known as statins have a poor sideeffect profile. They are really hard on your liver and youre supposed to have quarterly liver enzyme function tests to make sure the drugs are not trashing your liver.

there is such a thing as good cholesterol and bad cholesterol HDL and LDL. one of them makes you less likely to have a heart attack stroke etc and one increases the risk of this happening. Yes it is true that you can affect your blood cholesterol to an extent but drugs can have a bigger effect.

your body does produce cholesterol to help you but since with our modern lifestyles the amount of fat and sugar we eat is vast compared to even a couple of hundred years ago and we live much longer than we used to so high cholesterol becomes a problem.

all drugs have potential side effects. your doctor should be able to tell you the risk you have of having a stroke/heart attack etc in the next ten years. you can use this information to weigh up whether its worth risking the side effects. numerous and vast studies have shown that you are better off taking the drugs than not but its your decision.

Yes you do want to avoid bad cholesterol LDL and yes cholesterol lowering drugs do have side effects. Some people tolerate the meds okay but for others theyre hell.

Your doctor is probably referring to statins the most common drugs for lowering cholesterol. Statins can cause severe muscle pain and liver damage and there have even been fatalities from using them. But of course they are the number one selling drug in the country.

High LDL cholesterol can also be dangerous but its hard to know which is worse the condition or the cure. Luckily you dont have to choose between two evils because there are easy natural ways to reduce cholesterol. Diet is one way. Eliminate processed food with hydrogenated fat and other artificial ingredients. Increase consumption of fruits vegetables and grains.

There are also nondietary ways to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure too which are related. Exercise is one of the most obvious ways. But there are other ways too: listening to music and slow breathing are two of these.

Listening to relaxing music that you enjoy has recently been shown to reduce cholesterol in scientific research. It does this by expanding blood vessels which also lowers blood pressure. Two benefits for the price of one.

You can do the same thing using slow breathing. This is a practice where you breathe slowly and deeply for 10 to 15 minutes a day. Its been proven many times to lower blood pressure by expaning blood vessels and balancing blood chemistry. This also contributes to lower cholesterol.

Best of all you can combine slow breathing and music and get better results than from any single technique. Check the website below for full details plus free instructions and an online demo.

Why take drugs when you can get the same results safely and naturally?
